Early Career Faculty Learning Community: Student Motivation and Learning
Dr. Brenda J. Allen, Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Colorado Denver, will deliver the 2017 Brigance Forum lecture entitled "Ethical Communication and Diversity in Higher Education."
This discussion will be part of a series of workshops focused on CBL/R pedagogies and methods the Bonner Center is organizing in spring 2017 in partnership with centers and departments across campus. The focus of the CTIE workshop will be to consolidate information on existing support (such as curricular development grants) for faculty who are interested in CBL/R, and to revisit tenure and promotion guidelines and IRB protocols with the express purpose of clarifying how CBL/R fit within these institutional frameworks. Pablo Mitchell will speak about how Oberlin's IRB protocols are applied to CBL/R related proposals, and Tim Elgren will address how CBL/R are valued and assessed at the College level (understanding that interpretation and application will differ across departments).
